About Devon SmithFL
Devon’s desire to serve the public lead him to a long career in government service first as a soldier in the US Army, then as a police officer for the city of Winter Garden, followed by a 12-year career working for the US Department of Justice. As a soldier Devon was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Devon’s first love has always been real estate. As a child growing up in the inner city of Brooklyn New York, he remembers when a realtor came to his school on career day and in the back of his mind, he knew that one day he would pursue the profession. As a real estate investor, Devon has bought and sold homes in the greater Tampa area starting in 2015. Devon currently owns several short-term and long-term rentals in Florida and Ohio.
Devon classifies his sales style as no-pressure/laid back. But, on the other side Devon is a skilled negotiator and a resourceful, persistence advocate for his clients. Moreover, he views himself not just as a Realtor but as an adviser, helping clients not only to buy or sell but to strategize toward long-term wealth building with real estate. As a veteran Devon enjoys helping military personnel with their real estate needs. Devon is a certified by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) as a Military Relocation Specialist (MRP) and continues to seek ways to remain active in the military community in Tampa.
When Devon is not helping clients with their real estate needs, he loves watching movies, learning languages (help him practice his French, Spanish, and Haitian Creole!) and aspires to someday get his private pilot’s license.
